GMan's Automatic Timing Retard Eliminator (ATRE):
Suzuki manufactures motorcycles with a different ignition map for each gear. In the lower gears, the ignition timing is retarded. The ATRE sends a fixed signal for fifth gear to the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) which eliminates the timing retardation and enables a more responsive throttle and faster acceleration in the lower gears.

If your VStrom has a Gear Position Indicator or Overdrive Light they will be disabled when using this ATRE.
This will in no way harm the operation of the motorcycle!

Review: On my 2006 DL1000 the TRE has fixed my flashing OD indicator and 5th gear is noticeably pulling stronger now. It's a nice improvement in power when you're in 5th and 6th gear. The throttle response in 5th feels like 4th now. Well made product, tight connections, looks like it will be durable. Good product overall.
